SINGAPORE, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) grew by 12.4 percent in May from a low base a year ago, following the 6.4 percent growth in April, Enterprise Singapore, a government agency, announced on Friday.

It is the 18th consecutive month for Singapore's NODX to see year-on-year growth, and a rebound after the year-on-year NODX growth slowed down for five straight months.

In a breakdown, the electronic NODX increased by 12.9 percent year on year in May, following the 12.8 percent increase in April. The non-electronic NODX grew by 12.2 percent year on year in May, compared to the 4.6 percent increase in the previous month.

On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis, Singapore's NODX increased by 3.2 percent in May to 17.1 billion Singapore dollars (about 12.35 billion U.S. dollars), after the previous month's 3.3 percent decline.

Singapore's non-oil re-exports (NORX) grew by 19.9 percent year on year in May, following the 14.5 percent growth in the previous month. Both electronic and non-electronic NORX grew.

Singapore's oil domestic exports expanded by 86.4 percent year on year in May, extending the 67.5 percent growth in April.
