ISLAMABAD, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Eighteen people were killed when a passenger coaster fell into a ravine in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province on Wednesday, local media reports and officials said.
The coaster carrying some 25 people was on its way to Zhob district of the province when the accident took place in Killa Saifullah area, local media reported.
The Deputy Commissioner of the Killa Saifullah Muhammad Qasim told media that the accident happened when the driver of the vehicle lost control while negotiating a sharp turn.
Several people got critically injured in the accident and have been shifted to a nearby hospital, he said.
Several women, kids and the van driver were among those killed. ■
