HONG KONG, May 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted 226 km SSE of Katsuura, Japan at 13:17:51 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 11.07 km, was initially determined to be at 33.3661 degrees north latitude and 141.5254 degrees east longitude. ■
