KABUL, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Security forces in a crackdown against producing illicit drugs have destroyed 80 acres of hashish farms in Afghanistan's western Farah province, state-run Bakhtar news agency reported Tuesday.
The operations started in Balablock district and 80 acres of hashish farmland has been destroyed so far, the news agency said.
Haibatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of the Taliban-run administration, has vowed to fight illicit drugs, their production and trafficking until the war-torn country gets rid of the menace. ■
