HANOI, May 16 (Xinhua) -- A total of 248 people in Vietnam suffered from food poisoning in the first four months of 2022, of whom one died, according to the country's Preventive Health Department on Monday.
In the same period last year, 473 people were affected by food poisoning, of whom three died.
The country has also detected 14,704 dengue fever cases in the four-month period, including six fatalities, as well as 42 cases of virus encephalitis infection, and 1,066 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, according to the department.
Vietnam currently has 215,572 HIV carriers. To date, 111,396 people in the country have died of AIDS-related diseases, the department said. ■
