ISLAMABAD, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's law enforcement agencies foiled a terror bid in the southern Sindh province and arrested six terrorists, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of police said on Monday.

A raid was conducted on the terrorists' hideout after police were tipped off about their presence in the Larkana district of the province, according to the CTD of police in Larkana.

The arrested terrorists belonged to a banned terror group, said CTD officers, adding that they have been planning to launch terror attacks in the province.

During the raid, explosive material, weapons, detonators, and hand grenades were also recovered.

The militants were shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation shortly after their arrest. A case has also been registered against them, according to CTD officers.

Earlier on late Sunday night, the CTD arrested a terrorist affiliated with the banned Islamic State from the southern Sukkur district of Sindh province.

The arrested militant was trained to make suicide jackets and bombs, according to police officers.
