India's COVID-19 tally rises to 43,113,413

NEW DELHI, May 12 (Xinhua) -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 43,113,413 on Thursday, as 2,827 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry's latest data.

Delhi reported 970 new cases over the past 24 hours. Currently, there are 5,202 active cases in the national capital.

Besides, as many as 24 deaths across the country due to the pandemic since Wednesday morning took the total death toll to 524,181.

There are still 19,067 active COVID-19 cases in the country despite a fall of 427 active cases during the past 24 hours.

So far 42,570,165 people have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals, out of which 3,230 were discharged during the past 24 hours.
