KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's natural rubber exports rose 12.5 percent to 53,328 tonnes in March 2022 from 47,386 tonnes in February, official data showed on Wednesday.

China remained the main destination for natural rubber exports, which accounted for 50.6 percent of total exports, followed by Finland at 5.9 percent, Iran at 4.1 percent, Germany at 3.4 percent and Turkey at 3.2 percent, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement.

According to the DOSM, the export performance was contributed by natural rubber-based products such as gloves, tires, tubes, rubber threads and condoms.

"Gloves were the main exports of rubber-based products with a value of 2.1 billion ringgit (480 million U.S. dollars) in March, an increase of 9.1 percent as compared to 2 billion ringgit in February," it said.
