ISLAMABAD, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Tuesday dispatched a second batch of relief goods for flood victims in Afghanistan, Radio Pakistan said.

The relief goods, consisting of family tents, flour, rice and sugar, were sent through the airforce's C-130 aircraft, the report said.

The first consignment of relief goods was sent earlier on Saturday, according to the country's foreign ministry.

In a statement, the foreign ministry hoped that the international community would also play an active role in providing timely relief and economic assistance to the affected people in Afghanistan.

At least nine people were killed, 10 others injured and three went missing in recent floods triggered by heavy rains in Afghanistan, according to Afghan officials.
