ISLAMABAD, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan condemned the deadly attack on a water pumping station in Egypt's western Sinai region, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said on Sunday night.
"The government and people of Pakistan extend deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the early recovery of those injured in the attack," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and reaffirms its solidarity with the brotherly people of Egypt, it added.
The Egyptian military said at least 11 Egyptian soldiers were killed and five others wounded in clashes with terrorists in western Sinai on Saturday.
The clashes took place as the Egyptian troops foiled an attack by a group of terrorists on a water pumping station in western Sinai, according to the Egyptian army. ■
