JAKARTA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Jose Ramos-Horta leads the presidential run-off in Timor Leste, according to the country's Election Commission Secretariat on Wednesday.
With 98 percent of the total votes already counted, Ramos-Horta has garnered 72.74 percent of the votes while his rival Francisco Guterres got 27.26 percent of the votes.
The presidential run-off was held on Tuesday.
In the first round of the presidential election held in March, Ramos-Horta got 46.5 percent of the votes, followed by Guterres with 22.1 percent.
The run-off was held as no one of the two frontrunners gained more than the 50 percent threshold. ■
