COLOMBO, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's Foreign Ministry said on Monday it was closely monitoring the situation of the Sri Lankans residing in Ukraine and would take necessary action in the event of any emergency.
An official from the ministry told reporters that approximately 40 Sri Lankans, including seven students, are residing in Ukraine.
The official said the Sri Lankan embassy in Ankara was closely monitoring any developments in Ukraine and would take necessary action to evacuate Sri Lankan citizens in the event of any emergency. ■
