MANILA, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Three-quarters of Filipinos expressed their approval to President Rodrigo Duterte's performance in the last quarter of 2021, according to an independent poll released on Wednesday.

The Social Weather Station survey, conducted nationwide on Dec. 12-16, found that 75 percent of the 1,440 adult Filipinos said they approved of Duterte's performance.

The poll agency said Duterte's net satisfaction rating reached +60, 8 points higher than September's result, and is classified as "very good."

According to the pollster, 15 percent of those surveyed said they were dissatisfied with Duterte's performance.

Campaign for presidential election formally kicked off in the Philippines on Tuesday, three months ahead of the May 9 voting to choose a new president to lead this Southeast Asian country in the next six years.

Duterte, whose six-year term ends in June, has yet to endorse any presidential candidate, but said he started packing his personal things before handing over the presidency to the successor.
