TRIPOLI, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- A two-year-old Libyan girl died after her family's house collapsed due to heavy rains in the southern city of Murzuq, the Murzuq General Hospital said on Monday.
The hospital said two of the girl's siblings, aged four and 11, sustained injuries of varying severity in the incident.
The hospital also announced a state of maximum emergency and mobilized all medical teams in response to the heavy rainfall in the area.
Parts of southwestern Libya have experienced heavy rainfall and flash floods for about four days, causing varying degrees of damage and prompting authorities and medical facilities to raise emergency preparedness, according to local reports. ■
