CAIRO, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) on Thursday dispatched a new humanitarian aid convoy to the Gaza Strip as deaths continue to be reported in the enclave despite an ongoing ceasefire.
The convoy delivered more than 4,000 tons of aid, including 2,107 tons of food, 188 tons of medical supplies, and 1,733 tons of fuel for hospitals and other vital facilities, the ERC said in a statement.
It was the 283rd convoy sent from Egypt to Gaza since the ERC launched its pro-Gaza humanitarian aid initiative in late July 2025, the ERC added.
Gaza's health authorities said in a daily update on Thursday that five Palestinians were killed and 35 others injured over the past 24 hours.
The latest figures brought the number of Palestinians killed to 1,408 and those injured to 4,916 since an Israel-Hamas ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, according to the health authorities. ■
