EL ALAMEIN, Egypt, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- The second El Alamein International Airshow concluded in the northern Egyptian city of El Alamein on Thursday after three days of displays and exhibitions, with Egypt saying a number of deals and cooperation agreements were signed during the event.

The main deal announced at the show was an agreement between Egyptian carrier Air Cairo and European aircraft manufacturer Airbus to add 30 Airbus A320neo aircraft to its fleet.

The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation said the deal was aimed at developing the airline's fleet, increasing its operational capacity and supporting its expansion into new markets and destinations.

Other agreements signed during the event covered aviation training, aircraft maintenance and international cooperation.

Haitham Medhat, head of the Central Administration for Satellite Systems Design and Development at the Egyptian Space Agency, a co-organizer of the exhibition alongside the Egyptian Air Force and Ministry of Civil Aviation, said the show provided a successful platform for participating companies and countries.

He noted that the number of companies taking part had increased compared with the previous edition.

Held from Sept. 8 to 10 at El Alamein International Airport on Egypt's Mediterranean coast, the second edition of the airshow featured more than 250 exhibitors worldwide, over 100 aircraft and more than 50 flying displays.
