LUSAKA, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema was sworn in Tuesday for a second five-year term in office.

Hichilema and Vice President Mutale Nalumango took the oath of office at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, the country's capital, in the presence of Zambian citizens, regional leaders and representatives of foreign governments and international organizations.

In his address, Hichilema thanked Zambians for supporting him and his government for another mandate in office, saying that the next five years will be based on growing the economy to ensure citizens' benefit.

"I will continue to be a servant president for all the people of Zambia," he said.
