KAMPALA, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Reigning Uganda Premier League champion Vipers SC has signed Nigerian defender Princewill Biweribo Tarabina on a two-year contract to bolster its squad ahead of the new season.
The 24-year-old central defender previously played for Nigerian Premier League sides Bayelsa United FC and Plateau United FC.
Tarabina's arrival fills the void left by defender Rogers Torach, who joined Algeria's CS Constantine two weeks ago.
Head coach Denis Lavagne told Xinhua that the club was pleased to add Tarabina to the squad as it prepares for a new season featuring both domestic and international competitions.
"I'm pleased that we have been able to add to our squad with the arrival of Princewill. The club is a great place for him to be and his game will develop further," added the coach.
Vipers SC will face Mauritanian giant FC Nouadhibou in the first preliminary round of the 2026/2027 CAF Champions League, with the first leg scheduled for Sept. 5-7. ■
