CAIRO, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and 12 others wounded on Thursday after a helium cylinder exploded at a mall in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, local media reported.
The explosion occurred inside a restaurant at Arabella Plaza Mall in New Cairo, causing an elevator to fall, according to Egypt's independent Youm7 news website.
Ambulances and emergency teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was brought under control.
Videos circulated on social media showed that smoke continued to rise from the site following the explosion. ■
