KIGALI, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Rwanda's agricultural export revenues rose by 24.3 percent to 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in the 2025/26 fiscal year, driven by improved export infrastructure and increased productivity, according to the country's National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).

In a statement released Thursday, NAEB said the figure marked the highest annual export earnings ever recorded by Rwanda's agricultural sector and reflected the continued transformation, resilience and global competitiveness of the country's agricultural exports.

NAEB attributed the growth to specialized export-quality infrastructure, enhanced traceability systems, improved quality assurance and compliance with international standards, as well as expanded market promotion, product diversification, logistics development, and greater adoption of innovation and technology.

Claude Bizimana, chief executive officer of NAEB, said surpassing the 1-billion-dollar mark was a significant achievement for Rwanda's agricultural export sector, reflecting the country's commitment to transforming the sector and strengthening its position in global markets.

He reaffirmed the organization's commitment to working closely with stakeholders to further increase export earnings, diversify products, and enhance value addition.
