ACCRA, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and several others injured on Tuesday after a dynamite explosion in Ghana's Western Region, local media reported.
The incident was reported to have occurred at Aboso, a mining town in the Prestea Huni Valley municipality, when an attempt to kill a snake sparked the explosion.
According to an eyewitness, the blast occurred after a man allegedly fired a gun at a snake, accidentally hitting explosives that had been stored nearby, which caused a massive explosion.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and assist victims.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the incident. ■
