ABIDJAN, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Cote d'Ivoire on Monday honored 80 recipients of the National Excellence Awards for their contributions to the country's development at the 2026 National Excellence Day ceremony held in Abidjan.
A total of 87 awards were up for competition. Following the selection process, 80 laureates, including individuals and legal entities from education, research, innovation, the economy, culture, social affairs, defense and security, were selected from 3,977 applications, Prime Minister Robert Beugre Mambe told the event held at the Presidential Palace.
In a message released on the occasion, President Alassane Ouattara said the awards have become "a major event in the country's national life," paying tribute to women and men who contribute to the country's development through their talent, creativity, hard work and sense of duty. ■
