ALGIERS, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, stressed the need to pursue peaceful solutions to conflicts and tensions in the region during a phone conversation on Wednesday, the Algerian presidency said in a statement.
The two leaders reviewed the "excellent" relations between Algeria and Egypt and exchanged views on the situations in Palestine, the Middle East, the Gulf, and the Arab world, reaffirming the need to seek peaceful solutions to all conflicts and tensions across the region, according to the statement.
They also discussed the situation in Libya, stressing the need to work toward overcoming the country's current challenges.
During the phone call, Sisi extended his condolences and expressed solidarity with the victims of the recent wildfires in Algeria, which have caused casualties and destroyed more than 1,666 hectares of vegetation. ■
