DAR ES SALAAM, July 12 (Xinhua) -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the immediate disbursement of about 443.9 million U.S. dollars to Tanzania following the completion of key reviews under its lending programs, Tanzania's Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Sunday.

The disbursement follows the completion of the sixth and seventh reviews under the Extended Credit Facility and the third and fourth reviews under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility, the ministry said.

Tanzania's economy remains resilient, with gross domestic product growth reaching 5.9 percent in 2025 and projected to rise to about 6.2 percent in the medium term, supported by mining, agriculture and tourism, the IMF said in a statement issued on Friday.

The IMF said reform implementation was broadly satisfactory, though delays were noted in areas such as energy, value-added tax administration, central bank governance and public investment.

IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li said Tanzania has maintained macroeconomic stability despite domestic and external shocks, urging further efforts to boost domestic revenue, strengthen public financial management and invest in key sectors.
