ACCRA, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Ghanaian officials and experts have hailed cooperation between China and Ghana at a recent inter-party roundtable organized by the Chinese embassy to mark the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
"China has evolved into a complex industrial society, now able to compete with any other nation globally," said Kwesi Pratt Jr., general secretary of the Socialist Movement of Ghana.
According to Pratt, China's development story exemplifies the country's journey from winning the struggle for national independence to achieving sustained economic growth.
He praised the longstanding ties between China and Africa, dating back to the era of China's founding leaders and Africa's independence movements. He also commended China's commitment to Africa's development through initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative and its recent zero-tariff policy.
Samia Yaba Nkrumah, daughter of Ghana's first President Kwame Nkrumah, said China's success influenced her father's decision to pursue a development path tailored to Ghana's own pace and national circumstances as a way of "overcoming poverty and building our manufacturing base."
Nkrumah called for China-Africa relations to place greater emphasis on Africa's industrialization. "We look to the future to build our technology and industries. We look forward to greater and better things between us," she said.
Benjamin Anyagre, general secretary of the Ghana-China Friendship Association, praised China's four global initiatives, saying they respond to the demands of the current era and seek to help chart a course for the future.
Anyagre said China's Global Civilization Initiative reminds the world that development must be rooted in culture, integrity and mutual respect.
"China's approach to reforming global governance aligns with Ghana's enduring commitment to a more equitable international system," he said.
Chinese Ambassador to Ghana Cong Song said that although the four global initiatives are rooted in China's development experience, they benefit the entire world. "They tackle current challenges while paving the way for a brighter future for humanity," Cong said.
"Let us work together to implement the four global initiatives, build a more just and equitable global governance system, and ensure that the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind delivers greater benefits to all people around the world," he added. ■
