HARARE, June 28 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) remains at the core of China's development, maintaining its immense vitality through continuous self-revolution and a steadfast commitment to full and rigorous self-governance, a senior official of Zimbabwe's ruling party, ZANU-PF, has said.

In a recent interview with Xinhua, Farai Marapira, director of Information and Publicity of ZANU-PF, said that the roots of China's monumental achievements lie in the CPC, describing it as a highly disciplined, well-organized and focused party that refuses to bend to expediency but sticks firmly to principle.

"The strength of the CPC is the strength of the People's Republic of China," Marapira said. "Its ability to build itself into a force that institutionalizes self-correction and initiates top-down reforms without external pressure is a sterling model for political parties worldwide."

Reflecting on the CPC's guiding philosophy, Marapira said that China has effectively moved beyond conventional GDP-centered models that often prioritize aggregate economic statistics over social equity. Instead, the CPC has institutionalized a "correct understanding of governance performances," anchoring its vision in people-centered development.

"In the CPC's governance philosophy, development is not an icy statistic; it is something tangible that is reflected in the livelihood of every individual household," Marapira said.

Marapira spoke highly of the CPC's unwavering commitment to anti-corruption and its coordinated strategy of ensuring that "officials dare not, can not, and do not want to be corrupt."

Having participated in multiple study tours to China, Marapira described the CPC's model of continuous, centralized intra-Party education as a profound "eye-opener."

"We live in a dynamically changing world where technology evolves overnight, but the ideology and the core duty of the Party must remain unchanged," Marapira said.

Hailing China's tremendous economic growth, Marapira stressed the significance of translating the country's economic miracle into comprehensive improvement in people's livelihood and the eradication of absolute poverty.

"China has reset the template for what true economic empowerment means," Marapira said.

Marapira also said that China's progression from one five-year plan to the next showcases how strategic planning can systematically advance a country toward its grand goals without shifting focus.

This institutional continuity offers valuable reference for the developing world, particularly Zimbabwe. "We have a template on which we can draw ideas," he said.

"The fraternal ties between ZANU-PF and the CPC span more than six decades and are rooted in Zimbabwe's liberation struggle," he said. "Over the years, the two parties have maintained close exchanges and mutual learning, which have contributed to stronger cooperation and deeper understanding between our two countries."

Today, that relationship continues to deepen, characterized by mutual trust and expanding economic and technological cooperation, he said.

"China has never developed on anyone else's terms; it has developed on its own terms, within its own character. As Zimbabwe moves forward under our national mantra, 'a country is built by its own people,' we continue to take good notes from our Chinese brothers, walking hand in hand toward shared progress," Marapira said.
