WINDHOEK, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Four people died in the crash of a light aircraft in Namibia's Sossusvlei area, local charter operator Desert Air said Monday.
The wreckage of the aircraft, which was reported missing on Sunday, was located Monday morning in the Sossusvlei area, a popular tourism destination in Namibia's Namib Desert, the company said.
The victims were the plane's pilot and three passengers on board.
"There were no survivors," Willem de Wet, chief executive officer of Desert Air, said in the statement.
According to the company, the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the public has been urged not to speculate until preliminary findings are released by the relevant aviation authorities.
No further details about the identities of the victims on the aircraft were immediately made public. ■
