BAMAKO, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Fresh fighting was reported on Sunday in the Kidal region of northern Mali, a Malian security source told Xinhua.
The source said gunfire was heard again in the city, adding that details on casualties or damage were not immediately available.
The Malian army has not yet issued a statement on the reported fighting.
Mali's transitional government said on Saturday evening that armed terrorist groups launched coordinated attacks earlier in the day on several cities across the country, leaving 16 people wounded.
According to a government statement, the attacks targeted multiple locations, including the garrison towns of Kati, Sevare, Gao and Kidal, as well as the capital, Bamako. ■
