Mali's transitional council reshuffles bureau

BAMAKO, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Mali's National Transitional Council (CNT), the country's transitional legislative organ, reshuffled its bureau on Thursday during a plenary session by filling several vacant posts.

According to parliamentary sources, several vice-presidential posts had been vacant. Former Youth and Sports Minister Hameye Foune Mahalmadane was elected first vice president, while Hamidou Traore was elected to one of the vacant vice-presidential posts.

Former Third Vice President Mohamed Ag Intalla resigned in October 2023, according to local media reports. The reshuffle did not affect the presidency of the CNT, which remains headed by Malick Diaw.

The CNT bureau consists of one president, six vice presidents, two questors and six parliamentary secretaries.
