TRIPOLI, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Eight people were killed on Friday afternoon in a traffic accident at the western entrance of Ajdabiya city in northeastern Libya, local media reported.
The reports said that a passenger transport vehicle crashed near Gate 18, killing all on board -- 7 Sudanese passengers and a Libyan driver.
No further details about the cause were immediately available.
Libya has experienced a severe road safety crisis, with official data identifying it among the countries with the highest road traffic fatalities worldwide. ■
