ANTANANARIVO, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Madagascar's Minister of Foreign Affairs Christine Razanamahasoa on Saturday expressed hope that new momentum will be injected into Madagascar-China relations, while extending her greetings to the Chinese people ahead of the Chinese New Year.

"In this new year, Madagascar reaffirms its willingness to further strengthen mutual trust, deepen economic cooperation and investment, promote people-to-people exchanges, and, alongside China, consolidate the community with a shared future that we all aspire to," Razanamahasoa said at an event featuring Chinese gastronomic tastings to celebrate the Chinese New Year, organized by the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar.

Madagascar and China have long enjoyed strong and friendly relations, she said, adding that she hopes bilateral ties will enter a new phase marked by deeper economic cooperation that delivers tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries.

"I would like to convey my wishes of happiness, success and good health to the Chinese people. May China remain an example for countries aspiring to rapid development," she said.
