CAIRO, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's non-oil exports rose 17 percent to 48.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, up from 41.5 billion dollars a year earlier, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade said on Tuesday.

The increase helped cut Egypt's trade deficit by 9 percent to 34.5 billion dollars, while imports grew by around 5 percent to 83 billion dollars, the ministry said.

Construction materials, gold, chemicals, fertilizers, food products, engineering goods, and electronics were the main drivers of export growth, it added.

The United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Italy, and the United States were the largest destinations for Egyptian exports.

Egypt aims to raise annual exports to 145 billion dollars and rank among the world's top 50 countries on global trade indicators, the ministry said, adding that the government plans to streamline trade procedures and better leverage existing trade agreements.
