TRIPOLI, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) said on Thursday that the country's oil revenues for 2025 reached 21.9 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 15 percent.

In a statement, the NOC noted that the revenues included 3.268 billion dollars from royalties and concession contract taxes, in addition to a deposit of 71.36 million euros (83.91 million dollars) into the sovereign account during 2025.

Earlier in the day, the NOC confirmed that Libya recorded the highest average production rates in 2025 over the past decade, with an average of 1.374 million barrels of crude oil produced per day, totaling 501 million barrels for the year.

Oil and gas exports are the primary source of income for Libya, though the sector has faced setbacks in recent years due to domestic conflicts and political instability.
