TRIPOLI, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Libya's security agency said on Friday that one of its security checkpoints in the northwestern coastal city of Sabratha came under an armed attack by a criminal group.
According to a statement posted on the agency's official Facebook page, six agency members sustained serious injuries in the attack and were transported to the hospital.
The agency said initial investigations indicated that the attackers were linked to Ahmed Omar Al-Fetouri Al-Dabashi, who is internationally wanted on charges including human trafficking, drug trafficking and murder.
An agency unit raided a hideout used by the group, leading to the arrest of one member, Saleh Al-Dabashi, and the death of another, Ahmed Al-Dabashi, also known as Al-Amu, added the statement. ■
