GABORONE, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Botswana's President Duma Boko on Wednesday unveiled the "Investor Deal Book," an investment portfolio aimed at accelerating the southern African country's economic transformation from diamond dependence and fostering sustainable growth.

The deal book features 66 projects developed to deliver measurable and transformative results, comprising 52 private-sector and 14 public-sector ventures spanning key growth industries such as mining, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, health, financial services, information technology, and manufacturing.

"This marks a pivotal moment in our effort to catalyze sustainable economic growth and long-term development," Boko said at the official opening of the 2025 Global Expo Botswana in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana.

Boko reaffirmed Botswana's ambition to become "a high-income, digitally enabled, export-driven, and people-centered nation," stressing that achieving the goal requires urgent and decisive economic transformation.

Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship Tiroeaone Ntsima outlined Botswana's priorities in trade, industrial development, and the national investment strategy, stressing the critical importance of strategic partnerships and innovation as catalysts for sustainable economic growth and transformational development.

Ntsima said Botswana offers a secure and fertile environment for long-term investments, anchored by a strong governance framework, a predictable legal system, and macroeconomic stability.

Strategically positioned as a gateway to Southern Africa, Botswana provides preferential access to a market of more than 1.3 billion people through the Southern African Customs Union, the Southern African Development Community, and the African Continental Free Trade Area, he noted.
