TUNIS, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia arrested a woman for alleged links to a terrorist group in the town of Sejnane in the country's northern province of Bizerte, said the Tunisian National Guard on Friday.
"The young woman, who was wanted by security and judicial agencies, had been sentenced to 48 years in prison on charges of being involved in a terrorist group," said a statement posted on the National Guard's Facebook page.
The statement did not provide further details.
Tunisia has witnessed increased terrorist activities since 2011, in which dozens of security and military personnel, as well as civilians and foreign tourists, were killed. ■
