BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Tunisian President Kais Saied will pay a state visit to China from May 29 to June 1.
During the visit, President Saied will also attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.
Saied, 66, is an expert in constitutional law. He had served as secretary general of the Tunisian Association of Constitutional Law and vice president of the association. In 2014, he was a member of the expert committee to review the draft of the new constitution. He was elected as president in October 2019.
The visit marks President Saied's first trip to China since taking office. ■
