DAKAR, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Customs authorities said on Monday that a record 1,137.6 kg of cocaine was seized in Kidira, in eastern Senegal.
The drug, packaged in bricks and placed in bags, was concealed in the double bottom of a refrigerated truck coming from a neighboring country, the customs said, without elaboration.
This is the largest seizure of cocaine by land route ever made in Senegal, the customs said in a statement.
The haul has a street value of more than 90 billion CFA francs (about 146 million U.S. dollars), the statement said. ■
