BEIJING, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio will pay a state visit to China from Feb. 27 to March 2 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Bio, born in May 1964, obtained a master's degree in international affairs. He joined the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) in 2005.
Bio won the presidential election in April 2018 and was re-elected in June 2023.
President Bio attended the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and paid a state visit to China from August to September 2018. In May 2021, President Xi had a phone conversation with him on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Sierra Leone. ■
