Egypt to hold presidential election in December

CAIRO, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Egypt will hold its presidential election in December, and doors are open for candidate nomination from Oct. 5 to Oct. 14, the National Election Authority (NEA) announced on Monday.

The election process will take place on Dec. 10, 11, and 12, and Egyptians living abroad will cast their votes on Dec. 1, 2, and 3, said Walid Hassan Hamza, vice president of the Court of Cassation and head of the NEA.

"The elections will be conducted under full judicial supervision," he added.

Results of the first round will be announced on Dec. 18 while the final results will be unveiled on Jan. 16.
