ALGIERS, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Algeria said on Monday it is fully prepared to offer its support and assistance to neighboring Libya in the wake of devastating floods that claimed the lives of at least 150 people.
Algeria's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the country is committed to standing side by side with the brotherly Libyan people during this challenging time and is dedicated to providing them necessary support and assistance to overcome this heartbreaking tragedy.
Algeria further extended its deepest condolences to the government and the people of Libya following the devastating floods, read the statement.
At least 150 people lost their lives in the eastern part of Libya due to the floods caused by the Mediterranean storm Daniel over the weekend. ■
