HARARE, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Zimbabwean Cabinet dissolved on Monday after holding its last session ahead of general elections scheduled for Wednesday.
Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa commended members of his cabinet for the unity of purpose and hard work exhibited over the last five years, saying this has seen the ruling ZANU-PF government delivering on its mandate with commendable results across the socioeconomic spectrum.
Zimbabweans will head to the polls on Wednesday to choose a president, members of parliament, and representatives of local governments.
Mnangagwa is seeking re-election, and his main contender is Nelson Chamisa, leader of the main opposition Citizens Coalition for Change. ■
