RABAT, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-four people were killed when a van overturned on Sunday in the mountainous town of Demnate in central Morocco, the official MAP news agency reported, citing local authorities.
The van was on its way to the weekly Demnate rural market when it overturned, the report said.
An investigation has been launched by the Royal Gendarmerie under the supervision of the competent authorities to determine the cause of the accident, it added.
More than 3,200 people were killed in road accidents in Morocco in 2022, according to official statistics. ■
