LUSAKA, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The Zambian government on Thursday reaffirmed its commitment to fighting corruption, saying every allegation of corruption will be thoroughly investigated.
"We have implemented comprehensive measures to strengthen anti-corruption institutions, enhance transparency in public procurement processes, and foster a culture of accountability across all sectors," Minister of Information and Media Chushi Kasanda said in a statement.
Kasanda, who is also the chief government spokesperson, said that thanks to the measures put in place, the country's anti-corruption agency has investigated several cases and secured a number of convictions.
The government, she said, remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of governance and accountability, adding that the fight against corruption is a top priority as the government is taking concrete steps to address the issues in a transparency and systematic manner.
She further said that every allegation of corruption will be thoroughly investigated and that people found guilty will face the full wrath of the law regardless of their political affiliation. ■
