DAR ES SALAAM, April 26 (Xinhua) -- The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) said on Tuesday that more than 20 countries across the world will participate in the 7th edition of the Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE 2023) to be held in the port city of Dar es Salaam on Oct. 6-8.

Damasi Mfugale, managing director of the TTB, said at the launch that S!TE 2023 is expected to be attended by more than 200 exhibitors from the tourism industry as well as 150 international buyers from primary and emerging tourism source markets.

The expo will be followed by familiarization trips for six days to different attractions across the country, including Kilimanjaro, Mkomazi, Ruaha, Serengeti, the ruins of Kilwa Kisiwani and Songo Mnara, and Zanzibar Islands, he said.

Themed "Responsible Tourism for inclusive growth," S!TE 2023 would feature activities such as tourism business exhibitions, investment forums, seminars, and business networking, Mfugale said.

In addition, he said, the expo will cover exhibitions by tourism operators and other dealers of tourism-related products in Tanzania and from neighboring countries to showcase their products and services, establish new business partnerships, and strengthen existing ones.

In 2014, the TTB initiated the Swahili International Tourism Expo, an indoor international travel and tourism fair that brings to Tanzania international tourism buyers and travel writers from all over the world.
