RABAT, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Morocco has issued 2.5 billion U.S. dollars in bonds on the international financial market, the official Moroccan news agency MAP reported on Thursday.

Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah Alaoui said the bonds were divided into two tranches of 1.25 billion dollars, the first of which was a five-year bond with a rate of 6.22 percent, while the second was issued for 10.5 years with an interest rate of 6.602 percent.

The success of the bond issuing is "a testimony of investors' confidence in the Moroccan economy's resilience in a context of crisis," the minister was quoted by MAP as saying.

According to the Moroccan Central Bank, the North African country's economy grew by 1.3 percent in 2022 and is expected to increase by 3.3 percent in 2023.
