Morocco's CPI up 6.6 pct in 2022

RABAT, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Morocco's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 6.6 percent year on year in 2022, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) announced Friday.

Food prices rose by 11 percent, while non-food prices 3.9 percent, said HCP.

It added that prices in transport went up by 12.2 percent, and housing and construction materials by 5.1 percent.

The core CPI, which excludes energy and subsidized food products, rose by 5.8 percent yearly.
