JOHANNESBURG, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and five others hospitalized following a head-on collision in South Africa's largest city Johannesburg on Friday, the police said.
"At approximately 13:45 Friday, a bus and a pickup truck collided on the N1 road near Dampoort Crossing in the Ventersburg district," Police Spokesperson Stephen Thakeng said.
Three people inside the bus as well as a male and a female inside the bakkie were certified dead at the scene, while five others were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Thakeng. ■
