MOGADISHU, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Somali army killed 13 al-Shabab militants on Sunday in an airstrike conducted within the vicinity of Teedaan, a district in central Somalia, according to a statement released Wednesday.
The Somali National Army (SNA) said in the statement that the airstrike was conducted with the U.S. Africa Command (Africom) on Sunday. It targeted terrorists that were attacking the SNA forces in a remote location near Teedaan.
The SNA and Africom vowed to sustain the attacks against al-Shabab to prevent the deaths of innocent civilians. ■
