ALGIERS, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Algeria Li Jian has hailed China and Algeria as "truly comprehensive strategic partners" underpinned by mutual trust and support.
The Chinese envoy made the remarks at a reception held on Thursday evening at the Chinese embassy in Algiers to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
"China and Algeria are truly comprehensive strategic partners; they enjoy solid political mutual trust and have always supported each other firmly on issues of fundamental interests and major concerns," Li said.
Both countries share convergent views on international and regional issues, and work together to safeguard the common interests of developing countries, maintain global peace and stability, and promote international justice," he said.
Algiers and Beijing are "committed to continuing to deepen their economic and trade cooperation, and pursuing the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative," he noted.
The Chinese envoy also applauded the "key relationship" between the militaries of China and Algeria, which work hand in hand to deal with various threats and challenges, and safeguard their common interests.
He added that "the frequent exchanges between the two militaries at all levels and the deepening of military-industrial cooperation continue to give new impetus for bilateral ties."
Hu Xijun, the military attache of the Chinese embassy in Algiers, reviewed the achievements the Chinese military has made under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China.
He said that the Chinese military has the determination, confidence and capability to prevail over all threats and challenges, and make new and greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Hu hailed the fruitful results of the pragmatic cooperation between the two militaries of China and Algeria, noting that Algeria participated in the second China-Africa Peace and Security Forum and a Chinese team will attend the International Military game in Algeria.
"The all-round cooperation will continuously strengthen the bilateral military relationship and push it to a new level," Hu said.
The ceremony was also attended by Algerian government and military officials, in addition to ambassadors and military attaches from other countries. ■
